24 Weeks:

Our baby boy is as big as a cantalope and is about 8 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. His face is fully formed, his hearing is becoming more and more developed, and he is gaining about 6 ounces each week. Nothing new to report this week, except for the fact that he has been busy growing like crazy. I haven't weighed myself in a couple weeks, so I honestly have no idea how much weight I have gained. I go back to the doctor at 27 weeks, so I will probably wait until then to jump on the scale. He is still active in the early AM and late PM, except that I have started to notice he wakes up a little mid-day for a little punching bag session on my stomach.

25 Weeks:

We have been so ridiculously busy this week that I forgot to take my weekly picture (thanks to packing and moving)...I'm such a slacker. At least I took a selfie in the gym that I can use, right? Baby boy is as big as a rutabaga and is 9 inches long and weighs a little over 1 1/2 pounds. His skin is becoming pinker, his lungs are gearing up to breathe, and his nostrils are starting to open. Again, nothing new to really report this week. By Bahama Bucks cravings are still going strong and I still can't really eat eggs, but other than that, no crazy food cravings or aversions. We go back to the high risk OB on Monday of next week for an ultrasound (yay!!) and I do my glucose test on Wednesday of next week. Lots going on for this baby boy in the next few days.

Also, we bought a house!! Eric and I are now proud homeowners of a 3 bed/2 bath (with a study) house in the Cypress area. We (aka, my mom) painted the WHOLE house last week and we have slowly been moving are stuff in. Then this past weekend, we had both of our families come help out with the unloading of boxes from our apartment and storage, and it was such a whirlwind. I am so thankful for all of their help!

We are slowly unpacking boxes and buying furniture for our new place, so it will definitely be a work in progress for awhile. But we are so happy to have a place to call home and a place to bring our son home to from the hospital. Speaking of which, the crib is already in place in the nursery and it is so surreal. Our nursery theme and colors are already picked, now we just have to put them into action. The walls were painted a classic gray color last week and it looks amazing! Now for the details :) I will be posting pics once it is done!

Hopefully I will have more to report next week once we have the OB appointments!

22 Weeks:

Our baby boy, who Eric has now lovingly started referring to as "Junior", is the size of a papaya this week. He weighs a one whole pound and is around 8 inches long.  He now has eyelashes and eyebrows, he is developing his sense of touch, and he can now perceive light and dark.

I have started to have pretty intense acid reflux this week and it doesn't look like it is leaving anytime soon. I guess it is just one of those things, like my crazy sciatica pain, that will be continuing throughout this pregnancy...

Nothing else new to report this week!

23 Weeks:

"Junior" is the size of a grapefruit this week...he weighs a little over a pound and is 8 inches long.  His organs and bones are visible through his transparent skin and his skin supposedly looks a little saggy (apparently it grows faster than fat).

I feel like there was a huge growth spurt in my baby bump from 22 weeks to 23 weeks. It definitely is starting to round out. And based on the baby's movement, he likes to hang out really low in my belly. Maybe I'm just carrying low? IDK, I'm new to this...

We had a general OB checkup this week, which my mom was able to go to! She got to meet my doctor and hear the baby's heartbeat. His heartbeat is abut 142 bpm and is beating nice and strong! The doctor said I could take Tum's for my acid reflux, which is doing the trick, thank goodness! And we also got the due date settled...finally. The OB wants to keep the due date as September 7th, just because the baby is measuring consistently 1-2 weeks ahead. If he was measuring 2 weeks ahead one week and 4 weeks ahead another week, then she would look at moving up the due date. So for now, it is Sept 7th. And she told me not to worry about having a mega baby...just to prepare for the fact that he most likely won't be a 6 pounder. Which did not ease my anxiety...

So far, so good though! Baby boy is growing nicely and so am I by the looks of it! Eric and I have a lot going on in our lives right now....we are moving in one week!! (I promise I will update you on where we are moving soon....) And I can't seem to stop packing - which doesn't help my sciatica situation. So I'm currently laying on the couch and forcing myself to take a break.

Update to come next week!

And just for fun because he is cute...

I am so behind...by a couple weeks. Whoops! So here are 20 weeks and 21 weeks for now.

20 Weeks:

The baby is the size of a banana, weighs about 10 ounces, and is about 6 1/2 inches long. I'm feeling more pregnant, and I'm definitely still lacking energy during the day. Baby boy has started to get more active at night now, instead of during the day. I swear he is sleeping when I workout...kind of like he enjoys the rocking motion! When he first started moving/kicking, he was more active when I worked out, so maybe he has gotten used to it? Regardless, the movement at night is not the most convenient. But I would rather feel him moving around, rather than NOT moving around!

21 Weeks:

This baby boy is the size of a carrot, weighs 11 ounces, and is 7 inches long. (Side note: he is 2 weeks ahead based on our recent ultrasound...read below for more!)
He still moves constantly and you can now see his movement when you look at my belly. Definitely one of the weirdest things I have ever seen/felt. He responds to the dogs barking, thunder, and car alarms. So crazy!!

My most recent craving is a Bahama Bucks pina colada snow cone (no alcohol of course!). I have always liked their snow cones, but I never would have expected it to be one of my cravings. Many late night runs to Bahama Bucks have already been made. Sorry Eric...

I've started to get out of breath when I lay on my back when I sleep, which is a huge problem for me. I have always been a back sleeper, so it has been a huge adjustment trying to sleep on my side. But I'm working on it!

We had another high risk OB ultrasound this week. We also had a fetal echocardiogram in the same appt. Everything still looks great, which is a huge blessing! The baby's heart continues to look healthy and strong. His heart rate was 148 bpm and he moved almost the whole ultrasound/echocardiogram. He liked to keep his hands in front of his face, which made it hard to get a close up view of his face, but we did manage to get a good profile view!

Before this ultrasound, I could have sworn he had Eric's nose based on other ultrasounds, but I'm pretty sure that he has my nose based on this profile view. We will see in a few months!!

Based on the ultrasound, our baby boy is measuring 2 weeks ahead! (yikes) Our OB is thinking of moving up our due date by 1-2 weeks, which I'm really hoping happens, because I would prefer to not have a mega-baby. They are going to keep tracking his size the next month and then go from there.

I'm currently (since I'm 2 weeks behind) nearing the end of the second trimester, which is pretty surreal! Eric and I are moving in 2 weeks (more on that later), but the nursery is coming together nicely. We have all the bedding picked out, the glider and ottoman are ordered, and paint colors are picked out, and Eric's brother will be making the dresser/changing table for us! Once we get moved in to our new place, I will post pictures of the color scheme and patterns. It's starting to get so real!

22 weeks and 23 weeks will be next up on the blog :)
