Busy Bees

Where has the time gone? I feel like these last 2 weeks have FLOWN by. Seriously.

Over the past 2 weeks, Eric & I have driven all over Dallas, had dinner with Eric's uncle, went to Waco for the Bearathon, went to Tyler to visit lots of wonderful family, and went to see Hunger Games.
We are definitely looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home coming up. And then it's hit the ground running (literally) because we are going to be busy each weekend until Boston.

Speaking of running, I have my last LONG run of 22 miles (coming up this weekend) before Boston! I received my bib number & pick-up card in the mail on Saturday and I seriously cannot believe the race is so close! 3 more weeks people :) It's really happening!!

Another thing that happened recently is that Eric & I went to see the Hunger Games (obvi mentioned above). I absolutely LOVED the books...I have actually read each one from the series three times. I am easily classified as a Hunger Games fanatic. With that being said, I DID NOT like the movie. Which is so incredibly sad. I know tons of people loved it, so I'm sorry if you hate me now, but I am just voicing my opinions. I didn't think the movie did the books justice, I think they left out SO MUCH from the book in the movie, and the actors weren't at all what I expected the characters to look like/act like. Since I am such a huge BOOK fanatic though, I am of course going to have to watch the second and third movies just to finish the movies out. I just wish they had done things so much differently in the movie. Sad day :(

We went to see the movie in Tyler, which is where we were visiting family after the race on Saturday. My Uncle just got back from Iraq, so our entire family went to my grandparents house to visit with everyone. 14 people, 1 baby, and 6 dogs in one house is a lot of people...but so much fun! The party included myself, Eric, Biggio, Colbie, my dad & mom, their dog Lacey, my Mimi & Pops, their 3 dogs, my Uncle & Aunt, my cousins Marik & Bralin, my cousins Lee & Jodi, their baby Kenzie, my cousin Elysia, & my Aunt Tara. It was a blasty blast.
Here are a few pictures (excuse the iPhone quality) from the weekend...

Sweet Kenzie girl...love her so much!

Today just so happens to be my sweet Biggio baby's birthday! He is 3 years old...aka 21 years old! They grow up so fast ;)
Here are a couple pics I took when I got home!

He hated me...but he was a good sport.

B & Colbie rockin' their party hats...what party animals!
They crack me up! Maybe Eric will let me give Biggio a sip of beer tonight (haha)...I mean, he is legal now! I will keep you posted ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

I hope everyone had such an amazing weekend!
Eric & I went to wedding #2 of the year for one of my friends, Jackie, that I went to church with growing up in Conroe. We were childhood friends since age 10 or earlier and we have stayed friends ever since! She is such a wonderful person, who has so much love to give. Her wedding was so much fun and I got to see some of my childhood friends who I haven't seen in FOREVER! Eric & I had a blast.
Here are a few pictures...

Eric & I at the reception...probably one of my faves!

Robert & Jackie's first dance...her dress was beautiful!

Great couple :)

Old friends reunited!!
Lauren, Aaron, me, & Brian

Lauren & I with the beautiful bride...congratulations Jackie!

Eric & I have so many weddings coming up. One in April, one in June, and a couple after the summer. It's going to be a busy year with all our trips coming up too...Boston, Port Aransas, our one year anniversary, and possibly something at the end of the year. SO exciting though :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Hi all!
So this weekend, Eric caught a very short, but cute, clip of our friend/roommate Chris making Colbie jump so high off the ground!
Like, I said, it's really short, but look how BIG she has gotten! She is now 22 pounds! And she won't be done growing for awhile. She has huge paws and a huge personality. Very rambunctious & spunky...never a dull moment with this one.

So, changing topics, I don't know if anyone read my last post, but recently I went to watch my sorority in their off-Broadway production of Sing at Baylor. Well, they placed in the TOP 8!!! I am so incredibly proud of them! This is a huge deal at Baylor and they are now going to "Pigskin", which is a production that is put on during Baylor's Homecoming weekend, where all the top 8 acts perform their acts. It is a major recruitment tools for sororities & fraternities, so making it to Pigskin is going to be a great way to meet lots of girls who are planning on rushing in the spring. GO GO AXO :)

Speaking of Baylor, look what my mom recently got me for Eric & I's apartment...

Sic' Em!
A BAYLOR SCENTSY!! I am in love with it! It is currently producing sweet goodness as I type :)

Also, coming up soon is Baylor's annual half marathon, THE BEARATHON, and I encourage everyone who is a runner to run it one day. It is "the hardest half in texas"...seriously. This is not a lie. There are 5 miles of straight hills through Cameron Park in Waco and when I say hills, I mean HILLS. Definitely don't do this race without getting a few hilly training runs in. I am so excited to go back to Baylor to run it though. The race starts and ends on Baylor's campus, and it has a great route with lots of scenery, and lots of people to cheer you on.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week...here is a little inspirational running quote for you. I need to keep repeating it over and over to myself this week, since I have been sick and have had quite the toothache that has really been aggravated due to excessive pounding when I run. No fun!

"You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement."

Have a great day!

Eric & I made it back from Waco this weekend after a wonderful sing-filled weekend with my Baylor bears and AXO sisters. We had so much fun and I wish I had a video of their fantastic sing performance.
But unfortunately, copyright is an issue :( I can't believe I didn't take ANY pics...I usually take like a bajillion pictures at events like this, but I guess it just slipped my mind. So here is a picture of Baylor AXO sisters that was taken at SING.

Their theme was "Jukebox Heroes" which followed a rock band from the garage to the stage. My little is the cute blonde in the purple outfit that is in the center 2nd row. She is awesome!

The band in the last song!

Look at that perfection :)

I love my sisters...I wish I was performing with them!

We can't wait to go back to Waco to see everyone again. When we are there, it feels like we are home. I love going back and I love being on Baylor's campus. If I could go to grad school there, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Obviously, Eric & I travel A LOT...we like to be busy on the weekends, and traveling is usually involved! In a couple weeks, we are going to see my parents in Conroe and go to a wedding, and then a couple weeks after that we are going to Waco again so I can run the Bearathon (THE HARDEST HALF IN TEXAS!). And then we are going to try to fit in a trip to see his parents in San Antonio soon. Oh and of course, I can't forget our trip to Boston for the Boston Marathon in April! We are making a big vacation out of it and staying for a week! I have never been, and I can hardly wait! I have dreamed about running Boston ever since I started running and now my dream is coming true. So happy!

Speaking of running marathons, Eric & I (and a few of our friends) have decided to run the Austin Tough Mudder in October! If you don't' know what it is, then CHECK IT OUT. Basically, we are going to get a team together to run a half marathon that includes British Special Forces training obstacles about every couple of miles. Go watch these videos NOW and then sign up for a race. So cool!

All right, well I guess that is a pretty long post for tonight...Everyone have a wonderful rest of your week!

Valentines & Baylor Bears

I hope everyone had a wonderful valentines day! I know Eric & I sure did!
We aren't really into the lovey-dovey mushy valentine's day festivities, so we kept it low-key and just went to dinner and then a movie. We saw "The Chronicle" and it was decent, but I don't recommend going to see it if you get sick easily. I always get headaches when I film something from behind the camera, and that's exactly what the movie was, a boy's point of view from behind a camera. I get somewhat nauseous and get an instant headache....blah. Not fun!
Here is what Eric got me for Valentine's day though...

He knows me so well :)

This weekend, Eric and I are going to Waco to visit some friends from Baylor, go to a home baseball game, and watch SING! I am beyond excited! Last year around this time, Eric and I got engaged. So we are celebrating a lot of things this weekend :)
For those of you who don't know what Sing is, let me just tell you about it. Baylor's Greek life (sororities and fraternities) put on the biggest off-broadway production in the state every year. Each group comes up with a 7-minute act that includes dancing and singing, rehearses it for a couple months, then performs the act two weekends in a row. It is probably the most fun I have ever had on a stage. Here is a picture from last year's performance...and there's me in the front row :)

It's all about making a complete fool of yourself and having a blast! haha
Personally, I think that 2 years ago, Alpha Chi Omega's sing act was the best (but I'm not biased or anything) ;)
Here is a video of our act that year!

Here is the first place act that year too...from KOT! They were amazing. I promise, this is an event you want to see at least once in your life!

I wish I could put the video up from this past year, but Baylor won't allow that yet :(
Everyone have a wonderful rest of the week!

It's The Little Things in Life

Just recently, Eric & I acquired a temporary house guest, who happens to be Eric's college roommate and one of our really good friends. Chris, Eric, & I have had so many fun times together and with him being here, it feels just like college all over again! Chris recently got a job in sales in the Dallas area and doesn't know where his territory is going to be yet, so he is staying with us in our 2-bedroom apartment until he figures everything out. We love having him here, not only because we all have such a great time together, but because he brings me these...

YUMMY!

I swear, my mood became 10x happier! (aka: the little things in life) Anyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with sour patch kids. I can't get enough. Good thing I run about 50 miles a week :) Or else I would have some serious issues.

On another note, this is directed to all my married friends/family, do you ever have those moments where God reminds you that you married the person you were meant to be with? Obviously, we all know that we choose to marry our best friends and such, but just every now and then, God reaffirms it for you? Well, last night I had one of those moments. Eric & I were just spending some quality time together after dinner and we just couldn't stop laughing at each other. We weren't laughing necessarily AT each other, but it was like we were little school girls with a bad case of the giggles. I don't know what it was, but we just kept laughing and laughing, for absolutely NO reason! Anyways, once we controlled ourselves, I realized that (even though I already knew it), I could be my total self around this wonderful man, and he would still love me "until death do us part". Just one of those little affirmations that God shows us every once and awhile when we least expect it.
Like I said, it's the little things in life.

Well, I'm off to enjoy a run! Gotta get Boston ready (and burn off those sour patch)! :)
I hope everyone has an amazing Friday and an even better weekend.

So, this is actually my second attempt at blogging. I used to have a running-specific blog, but I never kept up with it. SO, I have now started a random personal blog that is going to be more about my new hubby and I's crazy-mostly-perfect life! We are on-the-go people with a love for life, friends, family, and of course each other. I have so many fun and entertaining stories I want to share, as well as pictures/videos all of you HAVE to see at some point :) We love our chaotic life and we love the people we get to share it with, so what better way to share it than with a blog! HOORAY!
We hope you enjoy our blog as much as we love sharing them. Be prepared for lots of funny dog story posts, running posts, friend posts, posts about our adorable niece Abby, posts about each other, and especially RANDOM posts. Random is our speciality.
Have a wonderful day and I promise I will write more in this blog than I did in my other one :)

Until next time,
Brittney

PS-
Here is a picture of our new puppy, Colbie...she is too cute.
